Increasing the Evidence Base: Financial Counselling Cost-Benefit
The Wyatt Trust is delighted to be working with The University of Adelaide’s Australian Workplace Innovation and Social Research Centre (WISeR) on a cost-benefit analysis of financial counselling service provision.
One of The Wyatt Trust’s key aims is to assist South Australians experiencing financial hardship into a stronger position to manage a household budget. The Wyatt Trust’s provision of funding to expand financial counselling services in South Australia has been central to this; enabling people to navigate financial crises by accessing appropriate, free and confidential advice. In the current financial year alone The Wyatt Trust has committed $346,280 towards financial counselling in South Australia.
This important study will contribute towards the evidence base of the sector through an investigation of the costs and benefits associated with financial counselling service provision to assess its net impact.
The final report is due for completion at the end of December 2013.
