In recent years Wyatt has been involved in funding two multi-year projects through the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). One partnership focussed on the resilience and wellbeing of young people on the fringes of the school system, and the other related to the social determinants impacting diabetes prevention and management in Aboriginal communities.
In 2018/2019 Wyatt also commenced a partnership with the South Australian Department for Human Services working on a place-based model in Adelaide’s Northern Suburbs to assist a group of Indigenous young people to reduce contact with the youth justice system and develop pathways through education and training. As with all Wyatt Major Grants, the ‘Yunga Nungas’ Initiative is a collaborative, multi-year project with a robust research framework in addition to the service delivery component.
