Social Inclusion Symposium: A Success

The Wyatt Trust recently partnered with Flinders University and Philanthropy Australia to present “Social Inclusion: A Symposium”.

The symposium involved addresses from: The Hon. Tony Piccolo, Minister for Communities and Social Inclusion; Professor Peter Saunders, Social Policy Research Centre, University New South Wales and one of The Wyatt Trust External Thought Leaders; Professor Sue Richardson, National Institute of Labour Studies; Dr. Jane Robbins, School of Social and Policy Studies, Flinders University; and Dr. Lorna Hallahan, School of Social Policy Studies, Flinders University.

Speakers addressed contemporary and historical issues regarding the concept of social inclusion as related to social and economic policy, service delivery and approaches to social inequality more generally. The day concluded with a Q&A panel which also featured Monsignor David Cappo.

The event was well attended by 120 representatives from the community, academic and government sectors.
