Subsidised Training for All South Australians

May 2012

Skills for All is a new state government initiative that will provide heavily subsidised training places, along with reforms to modernise and revitalise the VET system in South Australia.

This funding is an acknowledgement of the importance of free and/or affordable training opportunities to support the creations of career pathways for South Australians. Furthermore, it follows on from Wyatt’s long-standing partnership with TAFE SA to offer opportunities for subsidised training to individuals in financial hardship. Over the past 10 years Wyatt has provided over $1.5m in TAFE Scholarships contributing to 2700 semesters of study.

Skills for All will provide all South Australians a government-funded training subsidy and, for those who need it, additional support along their path to successful completion. Skills for All will commence from the 2nd of July 2012, so students will be able to access the training subsidy from Semester 2.

Wyatt commends this initiative and is proud to see its TAFE Scholarship program come to end due to mainstream government funding becoming available.
