The Wyatt Trust’s Thought Leader Series

September 2012

The Wyatt Trust held its inaugural ‘Thought Leader Series’ session on Friday, 14th of September.

Kevin Robbie, Executive Director of Social Ventures Australia’s Employment team, presented on Measuring Social Impact. This session brought together attendees representing the non-profit, government and philanthropic sectors across The Wyatt Trust’s four portfolio areas.

Kevin provided an overview of lessons learned from his experience utilising impact measurement, both in the UK and Australia. Whilst giving some background to varying forms of social investment and models for social enterprise development, he was also able to provide some key lessons to implement Social Return on Investment (SROI) principles for both service delivery organisations and funders.

In addition to the insights provided by Kevin, this event also provided a unique opportunity for various stakeholders to interact and share their own knowledge and experience to build a strong community of practice and improve the social benefit for those that we support.

The aim of the Thought Leader Series is to promote and share the knowledge and experience of experts like Kevin for the greater benefit of the South Australian community sector. The Wyatt Trust will continue to co-ordinate this series, identifying experts from each of our four priority areas to deliver sessions to support the work of our partners and networks.
