New program under development for older women and sole parent families

27 Nov 2021

The experience of older women and sole parent families of making ends meet, abruptly finding themselves in changed circumstances, or feeling they are only an event away from being trapped in poverty is something Wyatt’s partners have long spoken about.

Understanding these experiences, and how we can best provide support to the growing number of older women and sole parent families in financial hardship, will be the focus of a new grants program in 2022.

Working closely with organisations and people with lived experience, we will develop a response that aims to complement the services, supports and networks already in place through many community groups and service providers.

In the first instance, we are seeking organisations that provide services, programs, or other supports for older women and / or sole parent families to share information and advice on their work.

Through a 10-15 expression of interest process we are asking organisations to very briefly share what they are doing and whether they would like to be involved in a co-design process with their clients.

More information can be found on the expression of interest form here.
